I need to catch up...

But for now, I'll start with current events. I am so glad to see that February is almost over. It’s been a long month with sickness lingering around our house. Since Presley started daycare she has been getting sick (which is actually what I expected) and I am not enjoying it (which I knew I wouldn’t) A few weeks ago she came down with Roseola, nothing too serious luckily but boy was she moody! She didn’t sleep well because of the high fever so we were all exhausted that week. By the weekend, I had come down with strep-throat. I haven’t had it since middle school I believe, and I hope I never get it again! I can’t remember feeling so miserable. Luckily, no one else in the house got it. Shortly after, Presley came down with a little cold and so did I. Mine turned into bronchitis, and hers an ear infection. I think we are both on the tail end of it, so hopefully no more sickies around here!

Where did August and September go?

I cannot believe it is already nearing the end of November. Did we skip a few months, because I don't seem to remember them.

I just wanted to share a few things about the May family:

I think I have THE cutest girl on the planet! Seriously. She is so funny and so smart and just beautiful. She is such a good little girl too. She is always singing and dancing. One evening I asked her to come over to me so I could put her PJ's on, and she replied, "No, Mommy, I'm dancing!" Whats a mom to do with an answer like that.

Presley recognizes every letter of the alphabet and also knows each letter's sound. I'm amazed at how quickly a toddler can remember things, and she doesn't forget it either. I am going to start teaching her to read music. If she can memorize the alphabet, I'm positive she won't have any trouble recognizing notes on the staff. Who knows, maybe she will learn to play the piano very soon.

She carries a tune pretty well too. She loves to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, I am a Child of God, Hey Diddle Diddle and the Muffin Man!

I just LOVE HER!

Ok, so I realize this was all about Presley... I can't help it. I'm a proud momma!

Halloween!

I cannot believe Halloween is already over. I looked forward to it this year because I knew Presley would be more aware of whats going on. My parent's ward had a Trunk or Treat in Draper, so we took her there and had so much fun watching her. There was a particular lady that night dressed as a witch. She was decked out, green face and prosthetic nose and all. Presley pointed her out and said, "Momma, look, a witch!" I thought she would be scared of her, but to my surprise she wasn't. She wanted to go up to her and say hi. The rest of the night she wanted to follow the witch around. When the witch would sit, Presley would go up to her and put her hand on the witch's arm and just look at her. It was funny. The morning after the Trunk or Treat she talked about the witch. Too funny...

Halloween Preview

I am so excited to take Presley trick-or-treating. I think she will have lots of fun! She'll be going as Jessie from Toy Story along with Woody and Buzz Lightyear. :)

Vegas BayBee! As Presley would say...

This past Sunday, my mom, Presley and I took a little road trip to Las Vegas. My sister drove from LA and met us Sunday as well. It was so much fun to see her. Presley was so excited to see her too. We had such a blast! The weather was perfect and it was great to just relax! Presley was so good during the drive down. Luckily my mom's car has a dvd player and she watched a few movies. She was even better on the way home!

We stayed at the Worldmark condos on Las Vegas Blvd. The condo had 3 pools, 2 big hot tubs, a lazy river and also a kids pool. I loved that Presley could go in the water without me being right by her side. I think she also loved it cause she is in the - I do it, I'm a big girl - stage. We also shopped, ate too much junk food, and laughed a lot!

Thanks Mom, for taking me. It was a blast. I love you!

On the strip

Presley LOVED the fish tank at Caesars Palace

Lucky me, I got a HUGE kiss

Her CHEESE face

Of course she had to make a few phone calls while we were there

One funny story, while Presley was swimming, a man and his daughter came over to the kiddie pool. I thought Presley would be excited to have a little girl to play with, but no... She went straight over to the little girl's dad and sat by him and just started talking to him. She had no interest in anything else. I'm going to have my hands full when she is older...

Bring it on!

Last Wednesday, Presley quickly ran to Steve and kept saying "potty, potty, potty!" So Steve took her to her little potty and she went potty! Right after she got so excited and exclaimed, " I did it!" That is when I decided Monday I would start being very consistent with her and the potty. I found her Hello Kitty panties and Jessie panties (from Toy Story) and she was so excited to wear them! To make a long story short, over the past week, we have had zero, yes ZERO accidents. I have had to run a few places and keep pull-ups on her cause I know she will not go on a big potty, but when I am home she has her panties. Its funny cause when she has her panties on, she runs to the bathroom when she needs to go but with the diaper she doesn't say a word about potty.

This morning I was in my bedroom getting ready when she came in and said 'I did it!'. I started looking everywhere for pee on the carpet but to my surprise, she went in her potty all on her own. Took her own panties off and everything! I was so proud of her and was so excited that it might just be easy to potty train her. I keep waiting for her to turn and back-track, but I guess I'll just take it all one day at a time.

Keep it up Presley, I love you!

OUCH!

About a week ago, Presley took a pretty big fall. We were in our basement watching the Tinkerbelle movie when she started feeling a burst of energy. She started running around the little coffee table, then over to the stairs singing. Now, our basement floor is a concrete acid-wash and at the bottom of our stairs we have a small rug. I have never put the slip-guard under it because it never seemed to be a problem… until that day. Presley’s foot stepped on the rug then off again, but the rug slipped from under her and she landed face first on our hard concrete floor. I will never forget the watching and hearing it all happen. I ran to her as fast as I could as she instantly started bawling. I started tearing up as well. There was a golf-ball sized bump on her forehead and it was totally black and blue. To my amazement, she cried for about 30 seconds, then got back up and started running again, singing another song. Luckily, it was just a bump, she didn’t have a concussion, and didn’t really seem too bothered by the huge bump on her head. She sure if a tough girl!
